New plant: Wheelnews industrial production for repairing and upgrading alloy wheels

Interview with René Schmitt (Managing Director at Wheelnews) and Benjamin Engel (Operations Manager at Wheelnews). In Buchs AG (Switzerland, Aargau), Wheelnews has built a brand new plant for repairing and upgrading alloy wheels. SEHON not only supplied customized painting systems and painting technology for the production plant, which is probably unique in Europe, but also planned, coordinated and controlled a wide variety of products and technologies from different manufacturers and suppliers to create a single, perfectly integrated workflow and production process. The result is a specialist company for fast, safe and cost-effective wheel repairs in 100% manufacturer-standard quality. The same applies to rim upgrades (polishing, repainting, repainting or bi-color design rims). In this interview, René Schmitt (Managing Director at Wheelnews) and Benjamin Engel (Operations Manager at Wheelnews) reveal the special features and unique selling points of this new plant and the challenges and requirements that have been overcome. The two Wheelnews managers describe why the company (a subsidiary of CARTEC Carrosserie Technik AG) decided to work with SEHON Innovative Lackieranlagen GmbH (Gechingen near Stuttgart, Germany).

 

Wheelnews, CH-Buchs opens a center for wheel repair that is unique in Switzerland. Wheelnews, a new specialist division of CARTEC Carrosserie-Technik AG, relies on SEHON’s process management and technologies for the repair and reconditioning of damaged rims. The ultra-modern, semi-automatic rim reconditioning system can repair up to 120 rims a day. The entire facility is unique in its form. The center was equipped with cutting-edge technology from SEHON. The semi-automatic wheel reconditioning system with two conveyor belt painting booths, one for powder coating and one for wet paint, ensures quality to OEM manufacturer standards. By integrating various components from leading European manufacturers, Wheelnews offers a professional and unique repair process.
