SEHON expands energy management for bodyshops and paint stores

Energy saving and energy management have been part of the product portfolio of painting system manufacturer SEHON for many years. The company has become a specialist when it comes to launching the most energy-efficient painting systems and dryers on the market.

Earlier generations of SEHON systems already boasted exemplary low energy consumption, requiring up to 80% less energy than most standard cabins from other suppliers. This is due to the fact that in Germany in particular, particularly high demands are placed on the protection of nature and the environment, i.e. on green technology.

SEHON also claims to be a leader in the energy-efficient refurbishment of existing and old systems. There is great demand for SEHON to upgrade existing paint booths to the latest state of the art, regardless of brand or manufacturer. In Germany, the energy modernization of existing paint shops is generously subsidized by the state, so that body and paint stores are happy to invest in energy-efficient refurbishment.

Most existing spray booths and dryers have a large number of adjustments that can significantly reduce energy consumption and therefore CO2 emissions. The booth manufacturer is not afraid to go into every last detail of the system technology in order to achieve maximum savings.

Depending on the age of the paint booth to be modernized, even modern motors, up-to-date control technology, the installation of a high-performance heat recovery system and perfect filter systems can bring enormous savings. Many old booths, for example, run permanently at full load and therefore consume maximum energy throughout. SEHON ensures that energy consumption is controlled in future depending on the operating mode in the spray booth (set-up, painting, stopping, drying).

More and more customers want the focus to be not only on the energy consumption of the systems, but also on the energy consumption of the entire body and paint store, both in new builds and when renovating businesses. As a result, SEHON has been asked by many companies to design more than just the systems to be low-energy. One of the main requests is to take a close look at the entire operation, modernize it and make it largely independent of external energy.

SEHON offers a holistic energy concept for this, in which a customer-owned CHP unit is an essential key to the operational energy turnaround. Depending on the measures agreed with the customer, only 10 % to 25 % of the energy previously required by the entire company (not just for paint shops) needs to be purchased. In some companies, the surplus of self-generated energy can even be sold on.
